shared work

  • Human beings have a limited amount of attention.
  • Working on computer applications is very demanding and you must pay attention to many different levels at the same time.
  • Sharing the work, working with a partner, means you have more attention and the work goes smoother, faster, and involves fewer mistakes

Sharing the work is also one of the best ways to learn. When I tutor people we work on their real world problems and use them as examples of how to use the technology they are trying to learn about. What you learn while working on your own “problems” sticks with you better than learning down in a general, classroom type of environment. When a new “problem” comes up you can go back thru the problems you’ve already solved and usually find a solution that you can adapt to get started on the new problem.
